You can apply for a GBIS cavity wall or loft insulation grant if your property has an EPC of D or below, and your council tax is band A, B, C or D - it's really that simple! Contact your energy advisor - they will help check whether your home is eligible, and if it is, request a survey to see whether we can help you save energy with a GBIS grant. The grant also includes free extractor fan installation in both kitchens and bathrooms (if not present), and free window trickle vent retro-fitting (where required).
ECO4 Flex is great! - it means that a household in an eligible property which has a total income under £31,000 (before tax) OR a household which has someone who has one of a specific group of medical conditions (cardiovascular, respiratory, immunosuppression or limited mobility) OR someone in the household receives Attendance Allowance, can apply for the ECO4 grant, BUT this is ONLY in Council areas where the Council has chosen to take part in this scheme. Councils involved in ECO4 Flex have included: Ashfield District Council, Bolton Council, Derbyshire County Council, Liverpool City Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Salford City Council, Sheffield City Council, St Helens Borough Council, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council and Wirral Council. Please contact your energy advisor for the latest information.
If someone in an eligible property receives a means tested Benefit: (Warm Home Discount (Core Group), Universal Credits, Working Tax Credits, Income Support, Housing Benefit (Tenants Only), Pension Credit, Employment & Support Allowance or Job Seekers Allowance, they can apply for the ECO4 grant - they can be living anywhere in England to do this! Homeowners who receive one of the benefits listed above may also be able to apply for free central heating controls, and free thermostatic radiator valves (TRV's).
Currently the ECO4 grant is available for certain solid wall properties with an EPC of D and below - these houses have missed out every time cavity wall insulation grants have been available - now there is a grant for internal wall insulation - specifically for properties with solid walls! Restrictions do apply on specific properties - please contact us to find out if the property where you live is eligible.
The solid wall insulation grant is available for both owned and privately rented properties. If you're a tenant and you think you might be eligible - contact us, or contact your landlord, and ask him to contact us. If you're a landlord and you think your tenant(s) might be eligible, and you'd like to apply for the free grant, please contact us.
If you have an eligible property with a tenant who qualifies for a grant - TAKE IT! The measures required to make your property into a warmer and healthier home COST MONEY and are EXPENSIVE! The date hasn't been set but the government is pushing to create a law that will require all rented properties to have an EPC of C or above my 2028 - when this happens, if your property EPC is D or below, YOU will have to pay for any work required. Really, there is NO catch. It's free to put in an application with us. If this meets the required criteria the next step is to arrange a survey with one of our installers at your convenience, which is also free. If the survey is passed and we can improve your home under the HM Government grant scheme, the next you will hear is the installer calling to arrange a start date for the work. You are under NO obligation to take up the free energy-saving grant and can cancel any time before work begins. There is no guarantee that you will be successful if you apply but it is guaranteed that you won't be if you don't. You really have nothing to lose, and a lot to gain.
